What therapists actually earn in the UAE

Last reviewed: 8 August 2026

Published UAE therapy salary data is unreliable and the sources contradict each other badly. For speech therapists in Dubai, figures range from around AED 8,800 to AED 10,400 per month depending on the source. Treat every published figure as a rough indication, and judge an offer on the total package rather than the headline.

Why the numbers disagree

This is worth understanding before you anchor on any figure. Different platforms report very different numbers for the same role:

SourceSpeech therapist, Dubai
Indeedaround AED 8,773 per month
Glassdooraround AED 10,350 per month
UAE-wide average (Indeed)around AED 9,584 per month
PayScalearound AED 110,000 per year

Occupational therapy data is worse. Published figures across the main platforms diverge so widely that some are clearly mislabelled or based on tiny samples. The underlying problem is that these platforms rely on small numbers of self-reported salaries, and the UAE therapy market is small enough that a handful of outliers distorts the average.

Do not negotiate off a single published figure. The honest position is that no reliable public benchmark exists for UAE therapy salaries. Talk to people actually working in the market, and compare multiple offers where you can.

What actually moves your pay

Read the package, not the salary

A UAE offer is rarely just a monthly figure. Before comparing two offers, establish all of the following in writing:

Two offers with the same headline salary can differ by a very large margin once housing, flights and insurance are counted.

Where the market is heading

Demand has been rising. Reported growth of around 45% in UAE speech-language pathology postings between 2023 and 2026, expanding early intervention provision, the National Policy for People of Determination, school health screening covering speech and language milestones, and Ministry of Education requirements for speech-language services in mainstream schools have all added roles.

When demand outpaces supply, candidates have more leverage than they think. Being licensed already, and being able to evidence specialist experience, is where that leverage comes from.

Common questions

How much does a speech therapist earn in Dubai?

Published figures range from roughly AED 8,773 to AED 10,350 per month depending on the source, with PayScale reporting around AED 110,000 per year. These sources disagree substantially because they rely on small self-reported samples, so treat any single figure as indicative only.

Why is UAE therapy salary data so inconsistent?

The platforms rely on small numbers of self-reported salaries and the UAE therapy market is small, so a few outliers distort averages. Some published occupational therapy figures are clearly mislabelled.

What should I check in a UAE therapy job offer?

Whether the figure is basic or total package, housing, transport, health insurance and dependant cover, annual flights, who pays visa and licence costs, whether DataFlow is reimbursed, leave, gratuity, and expected caseload.

Does having a licence already improve my salary?

It improves your negotiating position, because it removes months of uncertainty and cost risk for the employer.
